If you studied the sneak peek of The Tower of Nero the way we did, you’re already well-acquainted with this crossbow-shooting Gaul. That said, between what little we know and this amazing illustration we’ve gotten clearance to share with you, we still have lots of questions.

1. What is a Gaul?

We understand there’s some Celtic connection, which may explain her gorgeous chain sleeve tattoos. But we need more details!

2. What’s her connection to Meg?

If we came across an Amtrak conductor striking such an imposing figure, we’d do what she says too. But her influence on Meg is more than mere intimidation. There’s clearly history, not to mention an adorably apt nickname.

3. Why does she have the same blades as Meg?

Okay fine, that’s sort of a part two to question #2, but we want to know! Is Meg the Sapling to Lu’s massive Celtic tree?

4. What is that torque around her neck for?

And how can we make it happen IRL? We need that for our next cosplay adventure. And also as a standard fashion accessory. WANT.

5. What is she, like a double-agent?

She’s working some complicated plans to get Meg and Apollo and deliver them to Nero, while also helping them. Anyway, we think that’s what’s going on.
