We’re just over one month out from the release date of the next Rick Riordan Presents epic, City of the Plague God. So it’s time to start showing off some of the book’s many great characters. First up: Belet.
Classmates, teachers, parents, monsters—all should watch themselves around this dynamo. She wields that sword as confidently as she does just about everything else. Although, rest assured, she has a special relationship with Kasusu, her legendary scimitar.
She’s also quick and merciless with everything from a snide remark to a sick burn in Latin to a balletic roundhouse kick. These are not necessarily the kind of qualities that make you friends, but she will prove a crucial ally of our hero, Sikander.
And did we mention her mom is Ishtar, goddess of love and war? More about her in another post, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, meet Belet!
